Come & Stay
You will need a valid passport to enter Canada. Please ensure your passport is up to date. Although it is not required, it is strongly recommended to have at least six months of validity remaining on your passport from your date of entry into Canada.
To get to Banff, you will fly into YYC Calgary International Airport and rent a car from the airport to drive to Banff. The drive is approximately a 1.5 hour drive to the Town of Banff.
Everyone entering Banff National Park will require a Park Pass. Passes are available at a daily rate of $11.00 per individual or $22.00 per family, or you can purchase an Annual Discovery Pass for $75.25 per individual or $151.25 per family if you are planning to extend your stay. To avoid park entry lines, please visit the link below to purchase and print a copy of your pass in advance.
Travel
Mount Royal Hotel
We will be staying at the Mount Royal Hotel in downtown Banff, and we would love for you to stay here too! Banff is an amazing town to explore by foot, and Mount Royal Hotel is at the heart of all the hustle and bustle with many options for dining and other amenities only steps away! This is particularly convenient since Ubers and taxis are not readily available in Banff.
We highly recommending booking your accommodations as soon as possible. Banff is a popular summer destination and hotels fill quickly, so please don’t wait to book! Mount Royal Hotel allows free cancellation up to 72 hours of arrival, so there is no risk to booking now even if your flight itinerary has not been confirmed yet. If you would like to explore other hotels, we have included some additional options for your convenience below.

Whether you are adventuring through the Rockies or simply soaking in the views, our greatest wish is that you enjoy your trip in whatever way brings you the most joy. If you would like to join us for any group activities during your trip, we would love nothing more than to experience the beauty of the Canadian Rockies with you!

To get around Banff National Park, taking a shuttle is often the easiest—or even the only—option, as parking is limited and some attractions require shuttle access. See below for a list of activities served by these shuttles.
